Wander around school
April 21, 2026
Wandering around campus is a joyful experience.
One day I'll put these lists on a map using ArcGIS Online.
...
Refill your water bottle:
> The Dining Commons soda machine has the best water on campus. It's cold and tastes like a mountain spring.
> The lobby of Yoshihiro Uchida Hall is great. The spout has a light so you can see how full your bottle is. The water tastes alright.
> The lobby of MacQuarrie Hall is decent.
> The lobby of the Interdisciplinary Science Building is decent.
> The second floor of the student union is questionable given the stains on the spout. I also question the sheer quanity of bottles it probably servces every weekday.
> The lobby of Clark Hall is poor. The water sprays everywhere and gets your sleeve wet.
> The lobby of Duncan Hall is the worst. There's some sort of film in the water that's slightly opaque. Would not recommend.
...
Watch a movie with your friends:
> Yoshihiro Uchida Hall, first floor auditorium: great (comfy seating, warm adjustable lighting)
> MLK Library, study rooms: good (private setting, dim lighting, guaranteed personal reservation)
> Interdisciplinary Science Building, fourth floor meeting room: decent (limited private setting, a little too close to the screen)
> Washington Square Hall, first floor: below average (hard wooden chairs)
> Science Building: below average (comfy seating, sterile white environment)
> Tower Hall: poor (hard wooden chairs, rows not rising further back, screen too high)
...
Creepiest areas at night:
> Science Building underground tunnel
> MLK Library basement floor
> Boccardo Business center lower area
...
Use the bathroom:
> Student Wellness Center: amazing (pristine, spacious, quiet, secluded)
> Student Union: decent (generally clean, busy)
> MLK Library: poor (unkempt, noisy)
